1933 HARDBOUND EDITION. NOT A REPRINT. NOT SPIRAL-BOUND. PLAIN
'NON-MAMMY' COVER (This Savannah chef holding steaming platter
is only seen in the later reprints commencing c. 1971 and by
several varying publishers.) NOT EX-LIBRARY. Published 1933 by
Farrar & Rinehart Incorporated in New York City. Good+/Very Good
condition with age-toning and very few discolored rust "strips"
where apparently page markers for various recipes had originally
been placed. All text is clearly visible on these pages; no
illustrations are affected. No dust jacket. 186 pages of classic
Savannah region recipes with memorable line drawn illustrations
by Olmstead. 5.75"x7.75". This book is a delight full of great Southern recipes, especially rice dishes,
pilaus, and variations of crab and shrimp, with many other foods
popular in Colonial Georgia. "Receipts" include the Oyster
Roast, Shrimp Paste, Corn Bread
Fritters, Colonial Cookies, and even Possum
and 'Taters and many other
18th century Savannah dishes. |
