cloth, gilt letters. Flatsigned by both Robert Heinlein and Virginia
Heinlein. With unclipped price on Dust Jacket and under protective Mylar
cover. 8vo. The book measures 8.5"x6.0" and
contains 383 pages. Enclosed with the book is a typed and signed
statement by the original owner recounting the circumstances of the
author and his wife Virginia both signing this book in 1976.

Robert's name on the title page. According to the original owner's
statement below: "This was signed by both of them before my eyes at the
World Science Fiction Convention in Kansas City, Mo. in 1976. They had
made arrangements before the convention that they would only sign a
single book per each person who presented their blood donor card."
This is
Heinlein's classic story of the revolt of the colony of Luna against the
Earth, in superior condition. Winner of the 1967 Hugo Award for best
novel. The book is cited in Currey p. 233; Anatomy
of Wonder (1995) 4-204; Survey of Science Fiction Literature III, pp.
1439-43; and was a 1966 Nebula nominee. To many critics, THE MOON IS A
HARSH MISTRESS is Heinlein's best work. CONDITION THE
MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS is in Fine/Very Fine condition. According to
the Seller, it is solid, tight and clean. There are no speckles, marks
(other than signatures), rips, tears or damp staining to the hardcover
book. The Dust Jacket
has some slight rub wear on the spine edges and upper right corner where
the color has been slightly rubbed.
PROVENANCE The current Seller is representing the former owner's estate. However, in 2009 the original owner of this THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS wrote and signed a letter stating how Robert and Virginia ("Ginny") Heinlein came to both sign the book in 1976. This letter is partially reproduced below and is included in
full in the book sale:
