BOOK DESCRIPTION

THE CRACK-UP by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Edited by Edmund Wilson. New York: New Directions, 1945. First Edition, First Printing in original dust jacket with unclipped price under Mylar protective cover. The appraisal card inside the book states: "First edition, 1st printing of only 2,520 copies." After Bruccoli, this book meets both first issue points: "First Edition, First issue. Title page printed in red-brown and black and has the 3-line colophon present on page [348]." The book contains not only Fitzgerald's  literary fragments and note-books but many of his previously unpublished personal letters as well as short works by several Fitzgerald associates including John Dos Passos and Edmund Wilson. The book measures 6.0"x9.5" and contains 347 pages.

CONDITION

THE CRACK-UP hardbound is in Very Good/Fine- condition. The interior is clean other than for previous owner's name on inside front cover which reads: "Mortimer Smith, Sandy Hook, Conn." Some slight age-toning to page edges only. The Dust Jacket is in Very Good condition; some scuffing is indicated at top and bottom of spine  There are some small chips to dj, primarily to bottom and top of spine. The original price of $3.50 has not been clipped. According to the Seller, the interior book pages have no foxing, marks (other than original owner's inscription), rips, tears or damp staining.

The Seller acquired THE CRACK-UP many years ago from a rare bookstore in Tucson, Arizona.
